About Us
Area14 Robotics was started by Ishaan Verma, a robotics enthusiast and rising senior at Bridgewater Raritan High School. This community club includes young girls and boys from primary, middle, and high schools. We're proud that 50% of our club members are girls! The club strives to create an atmosphere that supports hands-on learning, problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Our programs are aimed at developing self-confidence and a healthy competitive spirit in our club members.
Here, learning means much more than simply building a robot. Club members are expected to respect and support each other. Experienced members are often called to mentor and share their work. Taking responsibility for your work and good work ethics are encouraged.
Club Members can choose from one of the 3 tracks of the curriculum offered. We meet once or twice per week, to work on robotics skills, and projects, or prepare for competitions. We are grateful to the parents of our members who are volunteers.
Coach and Mentor
Ishaan Verma
Ishaan is the Founder & Coach of Area14 Robotics. He is also a youth mentor for the First Lego League and has represented Storming Robots in international and national robotics competitions. At school, he is a member of the Science National Honors Society, the NHS, and Delta Phi Alpha. For him, robots are toys that he will never get tired of tinkering with. While he thinks robots are fantastic, what amazes him more is how AI can be used to change the world, help respond to disasters or simply improve the quality of life. Ishaan is also very keen to use Area14 Robotics as a platform to encourage more girls in his community to pursue robotics.
As part of a selective leadership program, Somerset County Youth Leadership, he continues to serve his community and enjoys learning from community leaders about the issues in our county.
